On August 24, the collections of the necessary referral signature sheets will begin. Fidesz is trying to buy votes of pensioners robbed blind by the "utility cutback" scam, while MSZP promises voters 30% cheaper utility costs, said MSZP President dr. Bertalan Tóth in response to a question at the MSZP campaign launch press conference.
“It is outrageous and accurately and quantifiably proven that in recent years, Hungarian people have paid more for energy than what the Hungarian state acquires it for. This has been the subject of several research projects and studies and has been confirmed by experts,” Tóth began his response. “That is why we have repeatedly suggested that utility costs should be reduced by at least 30% up to average consumption! Almost 90,000 forints are pulled out of every Hungarian pocket each year,” he added.
In the midst of constant theft, pensioners are now being given 3 x 3,000 forints. Towards the electorate, "this is impertinence itself," said the party's faction leader conveying the anger of people.
"We still insist that pensioners do not receive a voucher, but that they give energy to Hungarian consumers for the price the Hungarian state buys it and that Fidesz should not make money on Hungarian consumers and Hungarian families," said President of MSZP and leader of the parliamentary faction dr. Bertalan Tóth outlining the significantly more favorable utility program of MSZP.
