MSZP Calls for Convening of Foreign Affairs Committee with Regards to Pegasus Affair
Lajos Kósa told us that the Hungarian state is indeed in possession of the Pegasus spyware, which has been used to monitor journalists, among others. However, after the Fidesz chair of the Committee on Defence and Law Enforcement admitted this, contradictory information was published about which body had acquired the surveillance software.

That is why Attila Mesterházy, as vice-chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee, is calling on the body to hear the Director-General of the Information Office in a closed session about the role the organisation or its former head, József Czukor played in the acquisition of the Pegasus spyware.

After contradictory statements by Fidesz politicians, MSZP says it must finally be clarified which governmental bodies were involved in the Pegasus scandal and what was their role exactly.
