Kovacs noted that the Socialists had condemned the recent terrorist acts in Norway without delay and expressed solidarity with the Norwegian Workers' Party whose youth camp was chosen by the attacker, in an attempt against what he saw as representatives of leftist values.
The Socialists believe that in this situation, the left-wing must take the initiative and join forces with parties, civil organisations, movements and churches that "reject hatred and are ready to defend freedom and democracy," Kovacs said.

Socialists urge to isolate extremists in wake of Norway shooting
The main opposition Socialist Party calls on all Hungarian political parties, organisations and institutions to join forces in isolating extremist views and those that promote them, party deputy leader Laszlo Kovacs said on Tuesday.
