Danube Capsize: Searching for Sunken Boat and Missing Victims a Top Priority

Danube Capsize: Searching for Sunken Boat and Missing Victims a Top Priority
On May 29, 2019, one of the most serious boat accidents in Hungary's history occurred in Budapest. The search for the ship that has sunk in the disaster and the missing victims is a crucial task for the Hungarian police, army, disaster management and the foreign and civil organizations specialized in water rescue.

Their work is incredibly dangerous and trying, not only because of the difficulties in searching for the victims and lifting the vessel, but also because they have to perform their tasks amidst heavy currents.

The rescue operation can only be carried out with great care, a lot of patience and free of any kind of political, social and media pressure, while fully protecting the lives of the Hungarian and foreign experts involved in the task. Therefore, MSZP supports the leaders and specialists of the operation with all its available resources and expresses its condolences to the families of the victims.
